This is a high speed low latency Network Interface Card (NIC) designed for inter-processor communications. The ServerNet Interface Adapter (SPA) may be used in server and workstation clusters. The SPA can be used in a point to point network configuration. It supports either single or dual network cables for high availability cluster communications. Transactions are processed through the SPAS across one of the NIC ports. If the port fails, and the interconnect is mirrored using the alternate NIC port, transactions will be automatically rerouted through the second or alternate port without loss of data or performance. The SPA supports dual ports for data transmission in a point to point network. Network performance depends on such factors as the software protocol selected and block size allocated. Theoretical bandwidth performance per fabric is 50 MB/s. The SPA is supported by the Compaq Insight Manager for fault detection and operational management. The adapter drivers are provided as part of the Compaq SSD for ease of installation. The SPA has been tested on a variety of Compaq product families including ProLiant Servers and Professional Workstations. This product is provided with a one-year limited warranty. |
