The Data Silo /Data Express (DES) integrated family of expansion chassis combines the rugged Data Silo chassis and the dependable Data Express. These products provide a rugged and reliable, removable drive housing for Ultra2 and Ultra160 SCSI devices. This line of storage enclosures is available in a variety of models, supporting 3.5 inch half-height or low-profile drives with both 68 and 80-pin interfaces. Each DES integrated chassis is constructed of rugged steel. Each chassis has a power-on LED indicator and features a drive key lock and an LED window which displays the SCSI address of the drive and indicates drive activity. The chassis contains one or more highly-rated, enhanced power supply(ies) and cooling fan(s), and includes VHDCI rear panel interface connections for SCSI Ultra2 and Ultra160 applications.The DES family is an extremely rugged steel removable drive expansion chassis, competitive in both its durability and reliability. The DS100 and DS500 chassis used in the DES products are designed with the same reliability expected of Data Silo products, and contains highly-rated, enhanced power supply(ies) and a superior heat dissipation system. The Data Express DE100 removable enclosures used in the DES products are also constructed of rugged steel, feature air vents (for front-to-back airflow), highly-rated mating and an LED window which displays the SCSI address of the drive and indicates drive activity. |
