MODEL- RPM1609 VENDOR- PARA SYSTEMS (MINUTEMAN) FEATURES- MinuteMan RPM (Remote Power Manager) 15 Amp version in a 1U form factor. This is the base unit with 8 outlets controllable by phone or browser and 8 NT shutdown ports. The MINUTEMAN RPM (Remote Power Manager) is the ultimate power nerve center for controlling multiple network devices and services. This powerful solution provides a network administrator with the ability to individually control AC power for up to 8 connected devices such as servers hubs routers modems and telephone systems. In fact up to 15 client nodes can be added to one MINUTEMAN RPM for a total of 128 manageable outlets . Once the MINUTEMAN RPM is configured and connected to the network it can be easily managed from virtually anywhere using a standard Web browser. For example an administrator can reboot a locked network router in another city by simply resetting the outlet. This feature makes the MINUTEMAN RPM the perfect solution for network administrators who manage one or more remote locations such as an Internet Service Provider with several Points-of-Presence (POPs). For convenience and flexibility the MINUTEMAN RPM offers different methods of communication and control for connected devices. The most common method is to connect the MINUTEMAN RPM to the Local Area Network (LAN) using a standard Ethernet network connection. Unlike competitive products the MINUTEMAN RPM offers the ability to control individual outlets over the telephone with no additional modem required. This feature is especially helpful if the network locks up or becomes inoperable and no network connection is available. An administrator can plug it into a standard phone line and directly connect to it from anywhere by calling the phone number for that line. Using a touchtone phone the user simply enters a password and can then reset a connected router hub or other device.
