The Accelar 1050 routing switch provides application intelligence such as application-level prioritization and access security to the wiring closet. Like all Accelar routing switches, the Accelar 1050 represents a new class of switch that offers the Layer 3 forwarding historically found in routers with the ultra high-speed performance and low price point associated with traditional Layer 2 switches. Designed and optimized from inception using hardware-based ASICs, the Accelar 1050 routing switch features over 3.3 Mpps switching or IP routing performance, as well as flexible, advanced features including Gigabit Ethernet, Layer 4 prioritization, IP multicast, VLANs and QoS. And because the Accelar 1050 routing switch accomplishes all of this using standards-based protocols, it can be easily integrated into existing infrastructures.
