Sony and Konica Minolta said that they will develop of joint form digital cameras with an only lens reflex (SLR), which marks the entrance of Sony in the segment of more fast growth of the market of cameras.
Digital cameras SLR use interchangeable lenses and work generally better than the compact models that they focus and they shoot.
The absence of a digital model of SLR has been a loose point for Sony because they contribute greater margins of gains than the compact cameras, which is much more easy to make and is under an intense pressure of prices due to the affluence of manufacturers with low costs.
The agreement similar to one is made at the beginning of this year between Olympus and Matsushita Industrial Electric, under which both will share technology to develop digital SRL jointly.
