Preschoolers with a flair for adventure can bring this portable boombox, featuring chief adventuress Dora the Explorer and her monkey companion Boots, along on their next journey for musical accompaniment. Measuring 6.7 by 6.3 by 4.7 inches, the boombox is compact for carrying and durably constructed out of hard plastic that can take a few knocks. A cassette player along the top is controlled by big buttons that allow kids to play, fast-forward, or stop a cassette tape. For a change of pace, kids can switch the boombox over to play FM radio instead. The large rotary tuner and volume knobs are easy to control; however, the cassette player keys are set very close together, making it difficult for younger kids to hit just one. Twin speakers on either side blast the tunes or there is a headphone jack on the front in case parents dont want to listen. The Dora the Explorer boombox has a carrying handle and operates via four "C" batteries (not included). --Cristina Vaamonde |
