Cross filters are filters discs with a network of engraved lines. This creates star like effects of spectral light sources The basic rule is The light on the subject forms the stars The stronger the light and the darker the background, the more dramatic is the star effect For the creative user of still, movie and video cameras 4, 6, and 8 HELIOPAN cross filters are available as well as a vario cross filter.Especially suited for special effects of spot lights at night, headlights in on-coming traffic, sun reflections or rippling water surfaces or the sparkling lights after a rain shower, and on trim or paint on automobiles The best results are achieved with long focal length lenses, open aperture and with the filter very close to the camera lens. |
